Here are the latest details ...</div><div><br></div><div><b><i>Timing ... </i></b></div><div><ul><li>Snow overspreads the area Saturday between 3 pm to 7 pm from west to east</li><li>Precipitation begins to taper off between 10 pm and 1 am from west to east</li></ul><b><i>Duration ... </i></b><br></div><div><ul><li>It's a fast moving system so precipitation will be limited to roughly a 3-6 hour window</li><li>Here is an approximate timeline of the steadiest precip -<b><i> Boston:</i></b> 6pm to midnight,<b><i> Worcester to Springfield </i></b>5 pm to 11 pm, <b><i>Providence </i></b>6 pm to 10 pm,<b><i> Hartford</i></b> 4 pm to 10 pm</li></ul><b><i>Impacts ...</i></b></div><div><ul><li>Not expecting heavy snow accumulations but it will snow light to moderately for a 3-6 hour window (times above) with snowfall rates up to an inch per hour possible during this time. </li><li>This will result in roads becoming snow covered late Saturday afternoon and evening along with poor visibility. Travel will become difficult during this time.</li></ul><b><i>Snow Totals ... </i></b><br></div><div><ul><li>Most of MA, RI & CT will receive 2-4 inches of snow before snow briefly changes over to rain and/or a wintry mix before ending around midnight or shortly thereafter</li><li>Northwest Massachusetts has the potential for 4 to 7 inches while the south coast of MA and RI likely only receive an inch or two, including Cape Cod and the Islands. </li></ul><div>Given the event is still about 24 hours away the exact timing may change by an hour or two with later forecasts along with snow amounts by an inch or two. This includes western, central and northeast MA, as well as northern CT and northwest RI. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for southern Connecticut Saturday into Saturday night.</div><div><br></div><div>We will include a brief outline of our expectations in this email. Also, the approximate arrival time of the snow on Saturday along with the current Winter Weather Headlines and expected snowfall amounts will also be attached.</div><div><b><br></b></div><div><b>WHAT/WHERE/WHEN:</b></div><div><b>- </b>Winter Storm Watch Issued for western/central and northeast MA, as well as northern CT and northwest RI late Sat into Sat night. </div><div>- Winter Weather Advisory Issued for southern CT Saturday into Saturday night.</div><div>- Snow overspreads southern New England from west to east between 2 and 5 PM Saturday. </div><div>- Bulk of the accumulating snow occurs late Saturday through Saturday evening.</div><div>- Potential exists for 4 to 7 inches of snow in the Winter Storm Watch area, generally northwest of the Boston to Providence corridor. Up to 8 inches are possible across portions of the Berkshires.</div><div>- Along and southeast of the Boston to Providence corridor, 2 to 4 inches of snow are expected. This also includes southern CT, where a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued.</div><div><br></div><div><b>IMPACTS:</b></div><div><b>- </b>Snow develops between 2 and 5 PM Saturday from west to east and sticks immediately on roadways with temps well below freezing. This includes the Boston to Providence corridor.</div><div>- Bulk of accumulating snow occurs late Saturday into Saturday evening, when 1 inch per hour snowfall rates are possible. </div><div>- Untreated roads will be snow-covered and slippery Saturday evening along with poor visibility at times.</div><div>- Bulk of accumulating snow ends after midnight, but lighter snow/freezing drizzle may persist across the interior. Snow probably ends as light rain/drizzle along and southeast of the Boston to Providence corridor after midnight.</div><div>- Temperatures rise above freezing Sunday morning in all locations.</div><div><b><br></b></div><div><b>CONFIDENCE:</b><br></div><div><b>- </b>High confidence in a <span id="m_5431067092630376265:12z.18">plowable</span> snow across the region late Saturday into Saturday night including the Boston to Providence corridor.</div><div>- High confidence that the bulk of the accumulating snow occurs late Saturday into Saturday evening.</div><div>- While we have high confidence in accumulating snow across the region, specific amounts remain uncertain.</div><div>- We currently expect 4 to 7 inches of snow northwest of the Boston to Providence corridor with 2 to 4 inches along and southeast of the Boston to Providence corridor. </div><div>- If the storm ends up weaker/milder, snowfall totals would be in the 2 to 4 inch range in most locations.
