<div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div>Good afternoon,</div><div><br></div><div>Please find attached a one-page briefing with the latest update on the clipper system forecast to bring accumulating snow to most of southern New England tonight into tomorrow morning.</div><div><br></div><div><b>Current Confidence</b></div><div><br></div><div>We have moderate to high confidence in the following snowfall totals:</div><div><br></div><div> - 4–8 inches across western MA/CT</div><div> - 3–6 inches for central MA, eastern CT, and southern Rhode Island (RI).</div><div><br></div><div>Confidence is lower across east/southeast MA, but 2–4 inches of accumulating snow is expected in those locations as well.<br><br>Ocean effect enhancements may boost snow totals up to 4-6" for portions of The South Shore in MA, but confidence in where these enhancements will occur is low. </div><div><br></div><div><b>What Has Changed</b></div><div><br></div><div> - A <b>Winter Storm Warning</b> has been issued for western Hampden County in MA and Hartford County in CT.</div><div> - <b>Winter Weather Advisories</b> have been expanded eastward to include Providence County in RI and Bristol and Plymouth Counties in MA.</div><div><br></div><div><b>Timing</b></div><div><br></div><div>The timing remains unchanged:</div><div><br></div><div> - Snow moves into western MA/CT between 7:00 PM–9:00 PM.</div><div> - Snow reaches eastern MA between 10:00 PM–midnight.</div><div> - Snow ends between 4:00 AM–7:00 AM tomorrow morning, with lingering flurries until mid-morning over the east coast.</div><div><br></div><div><b>Post-Event Outlook</b></div><div><br></div><div>Drier conditions are expected late Saturday into Sunday.<b> <font color="#ff0000">We wanted to raise awareness of another system that may bring a threat of freezing rain late Sunday evening into early Monday morning, mainly across interior southern New England.</font></b></div><div><br></div><div>The attached image highlights the areas with the greatest potential for freezing rain.
