Dear Emergency Managers and other partners,
A Winter Storm Watch has been expanded to include northern Warren, northern Fulton, and Schoharie Counties for heavy, wet snow early Friday morning to noon Saturday. The Watch continues for Hamilton, Herkimer, Bennington, and western Windham Counties. The Winter Storm Watch now begins at 2 AM Friday and runs until noon Saturday.
Moderate snowfall amounts are possible over the central Mohawk Valley, eastern Catskills, the northern Taconics and northern Berkshires. A Winter Weather Advisory may be needed for these areas.
In addition, strong west to northwest winds will be possible Friday night into Saturday across eastern New York and western New England. If confidence increases for frequent wind gusts in excess of 45 mph, then a Wind Advisory may be needed.
