Dear Emergency Managers and other partners,
What has changed: Upgraded most of our NY counties to a slight risk for severe weather. Expanded marginal risk for severe weather to cover rest of Albany forecast area outside of slight risk.
Scattered thunderstorms are expected later this afternoon and evening. The main threat with any storms will be damaging wind gusts. Hail is also possible. In addition, storms may produce locally heavy downpours, which may cause flooding of urban, poor drainage and low lying areas.
There is a chance of thunderstorms each day Sunday through Thursday, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours. Any thunderstorm will also be capable of locally heavy rainfall which may lead to water ponding on roadways and poor drainage flooding in low lying areas.
Heat advisories may be needed in the Hudson River Valley Monday and Tuesday.
