Dear Emergency Managers and other partners,
A light snowfall is still expected tonight into Friday morning which may impact the Friday morning commute.
A significant winter storm may impact the region this weekend with snowfall totals possibly exceeding 9 inches. There is still uncertainty in the forecast in terms of snowfall accumulations, sleet/freezing rain amounts and the exact track of the storm. The time frame for greatest impacts is Saturday afternoon into Sunday evening. Snow may change to a wintry mix including freezing rain for areas south of the Capital District, with mainly snow expected from the Capital District north.
A
dangerously cold air mass will likely impact the region Sunday night into Monday in the wake of this storm.
