Dear Emergency Managers and other partners,

Three episodes of hazardous winter weather expected this week:

1) A line of snow showers and embedded isolated snow squalls ahead of a
cold front will move across the region Sunday afternoon into the
early evening. Brief reduction of visibility and a quick coating
to an inch of snow will  cause localized difficult travel conditions.

2) There is a chance for a widespread plowable snowfall Tuesday and
Tuesday night. The snow may mix with rain during the day Tuesday in the mid
Hudson Valley, lower Housatonic Valley and across southern Litchfield County, CT
before changing back to all snow.

3) A bitterly cold air mass will move into the region Wednesday afternoon
through Saturday morning. The combination of the cold temperatures and
winds will produce dangerous wind chills and likely cause some isolated
problems with frozen pipes and broken water mains.
