Dear Emergency Managers and other partners,

Windy and cold conditions forecast for tonight with many areas seeing wind chills below zero.

light snowfall is still expected Thursday night into Friday morning which may impact the Friday morning commute.  
 
significant winter storm is expected impact the region this weekend with a moderate to possibly heavy snowfall. There is still uncertainty in the forecast in terms of snowfall accumulations, sleet/freezing rain amounts and the exact track of the storm. The time frame for greatest impacts is Saturday late afternoon into Sunday evening.  There is a greater potential for a wintry mix of precipitation for areas south and east of the Greater Capital Region with mainly snow north and west.  

dangerously cold air mass and well below zero wind chills are possible Sunday into Monday in the wake of this storm. Wind Chills between -10 and -40F are expected Sunday night into Monday morning.
