Dear Emergency Managers and other partners,
An Arctic air mass will continue to remain in place over the region today. The combination of the cold temperatures and breezy conditions will produce dangerously low wind chill values this morning. Wind Chill Values will reach as low as 20 to 35 below zero this morning. Wind Chill Advisories and Wind Chill Warnings are in effect for the entire region through the morning hours. Additional wind chill advisories will likely be needed for the higher elevations for tonight, as wind chill values will be as low at 15 to 30 below zero for tonight once again. In addition, heavy lake effect snowfall is expected for the western Adirondacks through tonight. Winter Storm Warning is in effect for northern Herkimer County & Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Hamilton County through tonight. Up to 8 inches of snow is possible in extreme northern Herkimer County.
