NWS Albany - Heavy Rainfall, Gusty Winds, Thunderstorms & Falling Temperatures Through this Evening - Sun, Jan 12, 2020 500 AM
**** The information in this email pertains to the following areas only:**** *- In Connecticut: Litchfield County* *- In Massachusetts: Berkshire County* *- In Vermont: Bennington & Windham Counties* *- In New York: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Hamilton, Herkimer, Montgomery, * * Greene, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Ulster, Warren and Washington * * Counties* Dear Emergency Managers and other partners, A *Flood Watch* remains in effect for the Mohawk Valley and Adirondacks through 6 PM today. Heavy rainfall combined with some snow melt may lead to minor flooding, as well as ponding of water in low lying and urban areas. Isolated thunderstorms may accompany the heaviest rainfall early this morning. A *Wind Advisory* remains in effect for all of eastern New York and western New England for through this afternoon. Southwest to west winds will gusts up to 55 mph, which may allow for some downed trees and power outages. After very mild weather this morning, temperatures are expected to fall this afternoon into this evening behind the departing storm. Temperatures will fall below freezing which may allow for any remaining wet surfaces to become slick. Please see attached PDF briefing for details.
