NWS Albany - Potential Heavy Rain Monday Night into Tuesday Morning - Update Sunday June 9, 2019 - 4:45PM
**** The information in this email pertains to the following areas only:**** *- In Connecticut: Litchfield County* *- In Massachusetts: Berkshire County* *- In Vermont: Bennington & Windham Counties* *- In New York: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Hamilton, Herkimer, Montgomery, Greene, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Ulster, Warren and Washington Counties* Dear Emergency Managers and other partners, We continue to monitor the potential for heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms Monday night into early Tuesday morning which could lead to water ponding in poor drainage/low-lying area as well as possible isolated flash flooding. Areas highlighted in the "slight risk" category in the attached Excessive Rainfall Outlook graphic have the greatest potential for isolated flash flooding. Also attached is the expected total rainfall between 8AM Monday and 2PM Tuesday. While we expect 0.50 to 2.00 inches of rain, locally higher amounts are possible, especially in the Catskills.
