NWS Albany - Heavy Rain and River Flooding Update - 6PM Friday December 21, 2018
**** The information in this email pertains to the following areas only:**** *- In Connecticut: Litchfield County* *- In Massachusetts: Berkshire County* *- In Vermont: Bennington & Windham Counties* *- In New York: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Hamilton, Herkimer, Montgomery, Greene, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Ulster, Warren and Washington Counties* Dear Emergency Managers and other partners, While the heavy rain from today has moved into New England, rivers, mainly in western New England, continue to rise towards flood stage. A few have already exceeded flood stage and we have issued flood warnings for those river points. Our Flood Watch remain in effect for this region until 1AM tonight. Eastern NY and western New England will stay mild tonight but we are closely monitoring an area of showers and thunderstorms in western NY and PA that may move into our region overnight. Any thunderstorm will be capable of producing heavy downpours which may lead to localized poor drainage or urbanized flooding.
