Good afternoon,

The biggest change since our last briefing is an upgrade to a moderate risk for excessive rainfall over most of CT and RI. A moderate risk is issued when there is at least a 40% chance of excessive rainfall leading to rapid onset flooding. Flash Flooding is ongoing in Providence this afternoon and additional flash flooding is possible over other areas that see persistent heavy rainfall between tonight and tomorrow. A flood watch remains in effect through 5PM Tuesday.

Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches will be common across the region, but isolated amounts of 5-7 inches is possible  in spots. See the attached graphics and one page briefing for further details. Let us know if you have any questions or comments.

Thanks,

Rob Megnia and Rodney Chai
