Here is an updated briefing on the strong west winds and gusts into tonight. 

Bottom line up front: Period of strong to locally damaging wind gusts expected into tonight, with peak gusts most likely from mid morning into this afternoon.

What has changed: 
  • No changes to existing wind headlines
Timing: 
  • Strong gusts continuing into tonight. 
  • Peak gusts most likely from ~9 AM-3 PM. 
Wind Gusts: 
  • Sustained winds 20-30 mph with gusts 45-60 mph. Highest gusts across the higher terrain of interior Massachusetts. 
Confidence: 
  • High confidence of gusts up to at least 45 mph. 
  • Moderate confidence for gusts up to 60 mph for higher terrain.
