Good morning,

Please find a briefing attached regarding the potential for heavy rainfall and urban/poor drainage flooding today and tonight.

There has been a significant trend upwards in the expected rainfall from today/tonight's system over the last 12-24 hours. Widespread rain totals of 1-3" are likely, with isolated amounts of up to 4" possible across the CT River Valley. A secondary local maximum of precipitation is possible across southeastern Massachusetts and southern Rhode Island, though confidence is lower in maximum rain totals in this region.

While rain will fall over a 12 hour period, downpours and isolated thunderstorms are possible; though the threat for thunder is isolated to the south coast and southeastern Massachusetts.

Kind regards,

Kristie Smith and Andrew Loconto
