Good afternoon,
Here is an update on the potential strong to severe thunderstorms Monday afternoon and evening.
WHAT/WHEN:
- A few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Monday between 2 pm and 9 pm.
WHERE:
- The threat is mainly to the northwest of the Boston to Providence corridor. The highest risk appears to be across Western/Central MA and Northern CT. This area remains unchanged from this morning's e-mail.
POTENTIAL IMPACTS:
- Localized damaging wind gusts and large hail.
- Low risk of a tornado.
- Torrential rainfall may result in localized street flooding.
UNCERTAINTY:
- The areal coverage and intensity of thunderstorms remains uncertain in southern New England. It is possible that clouds and early morning showers prevent any severe weather in our region.
- While the severe weather threat appears isolated at this point, there is a low risk that a few localized areas experience a significant impact.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
