Good Morning Everyone,
We wanted to send a brief update to let you know the forecast is on track. Wind and rain will quickly subside (if it hasn't already) as a line of heavy rain moves offshore by 7 AM.
Regarding coastal flooding, we still anticipate minor flooding (less than one foot deep) along both the east and south coasts during the morning high tide with moderate flooding (1 to 3 feet deep) on Martha's Vineyard and on Narragansett Bay, including Providence. Refer to the Coastal Flood Portal for more details:

Our focus turns to river flooding today. We anticipate issuing additional Flood Warnings this morning as we assess the effects of the overnight rain and snowmelt. Refer to the latest river forecasts here:

Another storm system will affect southern New England Friday night into Saturday, once again bringing the potential of flooding rain, damaging winds, and minor to moderate coastal flooding (especially on the south coast). We will send a briefing package this afternoon with more details.
Thanks,
Joe Dellicarpini, Torry Dooley, and Matt Belk
