Good afternoon,

Following is an update regarding the potential for heavy rain and a highly localized risk for strong to severe thunderstorms anticipated to affect our region for late tonight into Tuesday morning.

The most significant change was the addition of a Flood Watch in effect for all of CT, RI and southeastern portions of MA late tonight into Tuesday noon. We are especially concerned for urban and poor drainage street flooding in the Flood Watch area, coinciding with the Tuesday morning commute.

We anticipate heavy rain capable of flooding to be the main risk - although there is a localized and generally lesser overall risk for severe weather, including straight line wind damage and a low risk for a tornado or waterspout.

Unless there are significant changes that would warrant otherwise, expect this to be the final briefing for this weather situation.

Thank You!

Meteorologists: Andrew Loconto, Torry Dooley and Hayden Frank
