Good morning,

We want to provide a quick heads-up that most of southern New England is under a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms this afternoon.

Any thunderstorms that develop will have the potential to produce strong downdrafts, which could result in damaging wind gusts at the surface. In addition to the isolated severe thunderstorm threat, there is also a risk for urban and poor-drainage flash flooding, as any storms that develop today are expected to produce heavy downpours.

Thunderstorms are forecast to develop after 2PM

Please see the attached one-page briefing for more details and don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Have a great day,

Meteorologist Rob Megnia
