Good afternoon,
Following is the latest briefing regarding the potential for excessive rainfall for Sunday and Monday.
Confidence continues to grow on the potential for heavy rain for Sunday and Monday. This risk currently appears more focused in central and western sections of CT and MA on Sunday, then shifting eastward into most of Southern New England for Sunday night and Monday.
A Flood Watch may need to be considered for Sunday and/or Monday, due to the potential for excessive rainfall producing urban and poor drainage flash flooding and rises on rivers and smaller streams. The location and amounts of previous days' rain will influence that decision, along with specific rain amounts, both of which are still too uncertain at this time.
Expect another update to to this briefing no later than 6 AM Saturday morning.
Thank You!
Meteorologists: Andrew Loconto and Bill Leatham
