Good morning everyone,
We are monitoring a potential winter storm which would impact the region late Tuesday into Wednesday. Due to uncertainty, it is too early for specific details, but we wanted to give you a heads up on the possibility.
What:
- A storm system, moving along the northeast coast.
- Potential for a period of heavy snow, with a risk for total snowfall reaching Winter Storm criteria for some.
- Low risk for a period of ice and strong winds.
Where:
- The highest risk for significant snowfall will be across northern and western portions of Massachusetts and Connecticut, with lower amounts toward the southeast coast.
- Risk for icing and strongest winds highest across Rhode Island and Southeastern MA.
When:
- Beginning as mainly snow late Tuesday
- Potential for a change to ice (with some snow continuing) early Wednesday morning.
- Mostly done by late Wednesday.
- Low risk for impact to Tuesday evening commute, higher risk for Wednesday morning commute.
