Good afternoon,

Just wanted to send you a heads up on the potential for severe weather Wednesday afternoon and evening across southern New England.  Details follow below. 

WHAT/WHEN:
  • Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms with the main risk from 3 to 9 pm.
WHERE:
  • All of southern New England is at risk, but the greatest risk is north and west of the Boston to Providence corridor. 
POTENTIAL IMPACTS:
  • Damaging wind gusts and large hail are the primary threat
  • Low risk for an isolated tornado
  • Torrential downpours with any strong storms will result in a localized flash flood threat
  • Dangerous cloud to ground lightning will pose a risk to those with outdoor activities, including mariners and beach goers.
