Good morning everyone,
We wanted to update you on the strong winds we are expecting today. There is also the potential for a winter weather event from Sunday afternoon through Monday night.
NEW: A Wind Advisory has been issued for portions of the east coast of MA (see attached)
1) Thanksgiving Day Winds
- Wind Advisory from 10 AM Thursday to 2 AM Friday
- Northwest winds gusting up to 35 to 40 mph (45 to 50 mph possible on Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Cape Ann, peaking during the day
- Winds will gradually diminish tonight, but may linger across Cape Cod and the islands after midnight
2) Outlook for potential winter weather event Sunday afternoon through Monday
- No major changes
- A coastal storm develops off the coast Sunday afternoon or night, with the potential for both rain and some significant snow
- There is quite a bit of uncertainty as to the exact track and location of the storm and any potential impacts across the region
