The threat for freezing rain has diminished across much of the high terrain this morning with temperatures generally above freezing. There still could be some very localized light icing in the highest terrain of the northern Berkshires...mainly above 1500 feet where a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect. There may actually be a better chance for pockets of light freezing drizzle/black ice across the high terrain of Massachusetts later tonight into early Saturday morning as temperatures are expected to be a few degrees colder.

Otherwise, the main concern continues to be the expected coastal storm bringing the potential for rain to change to accumulating snow Sunday into early Monday. Greatest risk for a plowable snowfall will be in the higher terrain where temperatures will be colder. Across the rest of the region, snow accumulations are highly uncertain and will depend upon how quickly rain changes to snow and exact temperatures. We will have more details on this potential storm later today.
