Good afternoon everyone,
Attached is a one page briefing regarding the oppressive heat and humidity that are on tap for Thursday and Friday. Heat Advisories have already been issued for all of Southern New England; excluding Berkshire county as well as the Cape and Islands. Heat Indices are expected to generally reach between 100 and 105 degrees Thursday and Friday. It appears that Friday will be more humid and the potential exists for a few spots to see Heat Indices reach between 105 and 107 degrees. If that occurs; we may eventually need to upgrade portions of the region to an Excessive Heat Warning for Friday.
While it will not be not quite as oppressive this weekend into early next week, heat and humidity is expected to continue. Heat Indices may still reach into the middle to upper 90s and may require the issuance of additional Heat Advisories.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
