Good morning,
A strong cold front will be moving through MA, CT & RI early this morning, and accompanied by increasing northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph. Tree limbs still covered in ice from recent freezing rain (up to a 1/3 of an inch of ice accretion in northern CT Thu), may be more susceptible to being downed by the strong winds. Therefore, a wind advisory has been issued for western & central MA, northern Connecticut and all of RI. Winds are not expected to be quite as strong across eastern MA.
Strong northwest winds begin to diminish after sunset Friday, with light winds expected Saturday.
