Good afternoon everyone

We just wanted to send out a quick email on the expected heavy rain along with the risk for a few embedded thunderstorms late Sunday afternoon and Sunday night. Widespread rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 3 inches are expected, which may result in typical nuisance poor drainage street flooding. There is a low risk for localized areas to receive in excess of 3 inches of rain especially if any thunderstorms develop. If these localized higher amounts were to be realized some river and small stream flooding would be possible. The greatest risk for this would be across interior southern New England and perhaps far northeast Massachusetts.

To sum up...currently we are expecting heavy rain late Sunday afternoon and night favoring mainly typical nuisance poor drainage street flooding. However...we wanted to make you aware that there is a low risk for localized areas to receive in excess of 3 inches of rain. If this were to occur some river and small stream flooding will be possible. In addition...any embedded thunderstorms that occur are not expected to be severe. The heavy rain will have departed the region well before the Monday morning commute. We have included the image of the expected rainfall through Sunday night. At this time...this is the only email we will be issuing on this event unless something significant changes.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank You
