Following our previous briefing, we wanted to provide an update on the upcoming storm anticipated to impact southern New England from Friday night into Saturday.

As outlined in the attached one-page briefing, the forecast remains consistent with our earlier assessment. Similar to Tuesday night's storm, this system is expected to generate strong winds and result in minor to moderate coastal flooding. Although the rainfall forecast is less than the previous storm, an estimated 1 to 2 inches of rainfall could potentially exacerbate the ongoing fresh water flooding across the region. A Flood Watch remains in effect through Saturday night.

In addition, we have issued the following precautionary headlines:

  1. Coastal Flood Watch for the coastline of Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
  2. High Wind Watch for southern Rhode Island and eastern Massachusetts, including Cape Cod and the Islands.
  3. Storm Watch for the near and offshore waters.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or require further clarification.

Expect our next briefing today, by 6pm.

Matt Belk and Torry Dooley.
