Good morning,
Winds will continue to impact Southern New England through the afternoon but not as extreme as yesterday. A Wind Chill Advisory has been issued for the East Slopes of the Berkshires and Northern Worcester County for late tonight and Wednesday morning. Another weather system will pass Southern New England Wednesday night and Thursday morning. This will bring a few inches of accumulating snow for late Wednesday into early Thursday.
WINDS:
- Gusts continue to reach 40-50 mph during the day.
- Continued risk for downed trees/limbs, along with continued power outages. Winds may limit ability for utility companies to restore power.
- The risk should be fully over by this evening.
Wind Chill:
- A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect for the East Slopes of the Berkshires and Northern Worcester County for tonight and Wednesday morning. This advisory area also includes Eastern Franklin County.
- Wind Chills in this area tonight will reach 15 to 20 degrees below zero.
PLOWABLE SNOW LATE WED - THU:
What:
- Light to moderate snowfall.
- Snowfall rates generally below 1 inch/hour.
- Total snowfall of 1-4 inches possible based on current forecast.
- Some impacts to Wednesday evening and Thursday Morning commutes.
When:
- Snow overspreads from West-East between mid afternoon and evening Wednesday.
- Snow continues Wednesday night.
- Snow tapers off Thursday morning 5-7 AM CT and Western MA, 6-8 AM Central MA , 7-10 AM RI and Eastern MA.
Where:
- All of Southern New England
- Highest totals in the East Slopes of the Berkshires.
Uncertainty/When We Will Know More:
- Snowfall amounts may change over the next 36 hours.
- There is an equal risk for both higher, and lower snow totals.
- We will continue to update over the next 36 hours.
