Good morning,

We are expecting light accumulating snow between midnight Tuesday and midnight Wednesday.  A widespread 1-3 inches is likely north and west of the I-95 corridor, with localized areas of 4 inches possible. These higher totals are most likely across northwest and northeast MA. We do anticipate impacts to the Tuesday morning commute, and perhaps the Tuesday evening commute as well across RI and eastern MA.

There remains a fair amount of uncertainty, even at this time range, and the forecast could change as we approach Tuesday. The main issue will be temperatures towards the coast, which may only marginally support snow for a time during the day Tuesday. In fact, the Cape and islands may even switch to plain rain. There is also a risk for some freezing rain along the south coast of New England. Winter Weather Advisories have been posted where the confidence in accumulating snowfall is greatest. Winter Weather Advisories may be expanded later today should confidence in either accumulating snowfall or icing increase.

Attached is a snowfall graphic with our latest forecast snow totals.
