We are expecting a three day heat wave Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
What: Extreme heat
Where: northern portions of CT/RI and most of MA including the cities of Boston, Springfield, Hartford and Providence. However on Monday the extreme heat will be most widespread, even impacting the high terrain and the entire coastline.
When: Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The extreme heat will likely peak on Monday with highs 95 to 100.
Forecast Confidence: forecast temperatures continue to trend warmer for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Thus forecast confidence is above average for high temperatures to exceed 90 degrees each of those days along with a low probability of a few locations nearing 100 Monday.
Impacts:The heat will be exacerbated by minimum temperatures on Monday night only falling to 75 to 80 degrees in the urban centers including Boston. In addition, temperatures may reach or exceed record highs on all three days. Heat headlines will likely be issued later today.
