Good afternoon everyone,
Attached is our latest one-page briefing regarding heavy rain and significant flooding this evening into Thursday morning. Road closures and washouts may impact the Thursday morning commute.
A flash flood watch remains in effect for our entire area. A widespread 3-5" of rain is expected, with isolated pockets of 6-7" possible.
Since our last briefing, Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts, including Cape Cod, have been upgraded to a slight risk for strong to severe thunderstorms and isolated tornadoes.
The potential for northeast winds of up to 30-40 mph along the eastern MA coast remains for very late this evening and early Thursday morning. Saturated ground and fully leafed foliage will enhance the risk for downed trees. A wind advisory has been posted along the coast from Cape Cod to the New Hampshire border.
Thank you,
Kristie Smith
