A prolonged period of heat and humidity is likely Saturday through Tuesday.

The worst of the heat and humidity is expected on Sunday and Monday when heat advisories will likely be needed, especially in the Connecticut Valley and portions of eastern Massachusetts into Rhode Island.  Heat indices will reach mid/upper 90s Sunday, peaking around 100 degrees Monday. Low temperatures overnight will be in the 70s.
