Good afternoon,
Please see the attached one-page briefing regarding the dangerously cold conditions expected from Saturday night into Sunday. Wind chill values are forecast to reach 15 to 30 degrees below zero, with wind gusts up to 40 mph. Due to these conditions, the Extreme Cold Watch has been expanded across all of western and central Massachusetts, extending south into northern Connecticut.
Additionally, minor snowfall is expected to begin late Friday night and continue through Saturday evening. Most areas can expect accumulations ranging from a coating to 2 inches, with totals of 2 to 3 inches possible for eastern coastal areas. Parts of the outer Cape could see greater than 4 inches.
Thank you,
Meteorologists Torry Dooley & Caity Mensch
