Good afternoon everyone,
Attached is our latest one-page briefing and supporting graphics regarding the potential for heavy rainfall and significant flooding Wednesday evening into Thursday. This may cause impacts such as road closures and washouts, as well as impact Thursday morning commuters.
Changes Since Last Briefing: Rain totals were increased in most locations, and expansion of the Flash Flood Watch to now include ALL of CT, RI and MA.
Heavy rainfall and potential for flooding is the greatest risk to be felt by most in this event. However, we do want to message the potential for strong thunderstorms later Wednesday night into Thursday. These may carry with them a low probability of brief tornadoes or thunderstorm-related wind damage. The best chance for experiencing strong thunderstorms is along south coastal Southern New England and Cape Cod, highlighted in the area in forest green on the attached Thunderstorm Outlook graphic from the Storm Prediction Center.
Thank You!
Meteorologists: Andrew Loconto, Frank Nocera and Matt Belk
