Good morning,

While today will start in relative comfort, heat and humidity will be on the increase today and peak on Saturday and Sunday.  A cold front then brings relief from the high temperatures Monday and the high humidity Tuesday.

Heat index values will approach or even exceed 110 degrees in some locations Saturday and Sunday afternoons.  This is dangerous heat and humidity and relatively rare for this part of the country. We have attached an image of the Heat Headlines issued along with the maximum heat index values anticipated Today, Saturday and Sunday.  It is not only heat during the day, but the lack of cooling at night which will be a problem. Fortunately, much cooler air arrives Monday.
