[2019.11.28 PM] NWS Boston EM Briefing -- Winds Thanksgiving Night and Outlook for upcoming weekend weather
Good afternoon, We wanted to update you on continued strong wind gusts into tonight for Cape Cod and Nantucket, and on the potential for a winter weather event from Sunday through Monday night. *Changes with this Update*: The *Wind Advisory *has been cancelled for most of coastal eastern MA. It remains in effect for Cape Cod and Nantucket until 2 AM Friday. 1) Thanksgiving Winds: - Wind Advisory in effect until 2 AM Friday for Cape Cod and Nantucket. - Northwest winds gusting from 40 to 50 mph at times until 2 AM. Decreasing to 30-35 mph for the remainder of the overnight. 2) Outlook for potential winter weather event Sunday through Monday night - Increasing confidence for wintry weather, with impactful accumulations possible into interior southern New England (Mainly north and west of the I-95 corridor) Sunday into Monday night. - While the primary accumulation period is looking to be Sunday into Monday night, wintry weather may linger into Tuesday. - There remains quite a bit of uncertainty as to the exact track, ending of the storm, and accumulation amounts.
