[12.03.2024 PM] NWS Boston EM Briefing - Interior Snow and Gusty Winds Dec 4-6
Good afternoon, Here is an updated briefing on the upcoming clipper system which will bring accumulating snow to interior southern New England Wednesday night into Thursday morning. There are no changes to forecast thinking with 3-6 inches of snow expected over the higher elevations of the Berkshires and Worcester Hills, and 1-3 inches across the lower elevations in the interior. Mainly rain is expected along and south and east of the Boston to Providence corridor. A winter weather advisory has been issued for much of central and western MA for Wednesday night into Thursday morning. No impacts to the Wednesday evening commute are expected but the Thursday morning commute will be impacted, especially in the higher elevations. In addition, we expect strong southwest wind gusts developing Wednesday night over the Cape and Islands where wind advisories may be needed. Strong west wind gusts are expected to develop across all of southern New England Thursday afternoon and evening. Thanks.
