[12.16.2024 AM] NWS Boston EM Briefing: Light Icing for the Morning Commute
Good morning everyone We just wanted to let you know that the Winter Weather Advisory has been extended further east to cover all of Connecticut except the immediate south coast. We also included Rhode Island in this Winter Weather Advisory through 11 am this morning. A mixture of light snow and light freezing rain/freezing drizzle may result in a light glaze of ice on untreated surfaces for the morning commute. Any snow amounts will be just a dusting to 1", but the main concern is the potential for a light glaze of ice. The area of concern includes the Hartford, to Springfield, to Providence Metro areas for the morning commute. Temperatures should rise above freezing by late morning or lunch time alleviating any issues. We have included a graphic of the Winter Weather Advisory below. Thank You!
