[2019.11.27 PM] NWS Boston EM Briefing -- Thanksgiving Day winds and Outlook for upcoming weekend weather
Good afternoon. We wanted to touch base with you to keep you informed about the strong winds we are expecting during Thanksgiving Day into the evening. There is also the potential for a winter weather event from Sunday afternoon through Monday night. 1.) Thanksgiving Day Winds - Expect Northwest winds gusting up to 35 to 40 mph, peaking during the day - Winds will gradually diminish Thanksgiving night, but may linger across Cape Cod and the islands through around midnight or so 2/) Outlook for potential winter weather event Sunday afternoon through Monday - A coastal storm may develop off the coast Sunday afternoon or night, with the potential for rain and/or snow - There is quite a bit of uncertainty as to the exact track and location of the storm and any potential impacts across the region Continue to monitor the latest weather forecast on the NWS Boston/Norton website. If conditions appear to become more favorable for this event, we will send an update to you.
