[2022.07.28 500 PM] Severe Thunderstorm Watch In Effect Until 10 PM
Good afternoon, The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the counties of Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin, Worcester, Middlesex and Essex Counties in Massachusetts until 1000 PM Thursday July 28th. *Note*: Berkshire County in Massachusetts is also under a previous Severe Thunderstorm Watch, which is in effect until 800 PM. Storms are anticipated to form into a line or line segments. Scattered strong to locally damaging straight line winds are the greatest risk in severe thunderstorms. The Severe Thunderstorm Watch does not include eastern Massachusetts from Boston south, Connecticut or Rhode Island. While severe thunderstorms can and do occur in and close to a Severe Thunderstorm Watch area, the risk for severe storms is low here. Overall confidence in severe weather is only rated as moderate, and it remains possible that the strongest thunderstorms remain to the north of the Massachusetts border. Thank You!
