[2024.09.05 PM] High Surf & Dangerous Rip Currents Fri/Sat
Good afternoon everyone, We've hoisted a High Surf Advisory for Nantucket and Cape Cod, along with a Rip Current Statement for the remainder of the MA/RI coastline, effective Friday and Saturday. Low pressure developing several hundred miles east of the NC coast Thursday afternoon, will strengthen as it tracks northeast across Georges Bank Friday and then into Nova Scotia Saturday evening. This will result in high surf and dangerous rip currents, beginning Friday afternoon and then peaking Saturday. The worst conditions are expected to impact east facing ocean beaches of Cape Cod and Nantucket. Surf and rip currents will become less of an issue Sunday and especially early next week. The next update will be issued Friday afternoon. Attached is a one pager and a graphic with additional details.
