[01.24.2023 PM] NWS Boston EM Briefing: January 25-26th Storm
Good afternoon everyone We have attached a briefing package in regards to the upcoming storm. The main changes with this package are as follows: 1)* Winter Storm Watch Converted to a Winter Weather Advisory and extended just to the northwest of the Boston to Providence Corridor:* - Snow develops Wednesday afternoon - A general 2 to 6" of snow with an impact to the Wednesday Evening Rush Hour. Highest of the snow amounts across the interior - Snow Changes to Rain from south to north...roughly Wednesday between 6 pm and midnight *2) Flood Watch Issued for Rhode Island and Southeast Massachusetts Wednesday evening into Thursday morning:* * - *Rain will fall heavily at times later Wednesday evening into the overnight hours. - Pockets of street flooding possible along with the potential of some minor Small River/Stream Flooding *3) Wind Advisory Across parts of Southeast CT, Rhode Island and Southeast Massachusetts Late Wednesday evening into early Thursday morning:* * - * A period of 40-50 mph wind gusts expected - Downed tree limbs and power outages possible *4) Coastal Flood Advisory for portions of the CT coast for the Wednesday night high tide cycle.* The next update will be issued by 6 AM Wednesday morning.
