[2020-08-09 AM] NWS Boston EM Briefing: Increasing Heat and Humidity This Week
Good morning, Above normal temperatures in the upper 80s to mid 90s and rising humidity levels will result in elevated heat indices starting Monday and continuing into at least Wednesday. While Monday will feature rising heat indices, the most oppressive period appears to be Tuesday and Wednesday. Heat Advisories could become necessary pending stronger confidence in occurrence and coverage of 95-99F heat indices. Based on Sunday morning's forecast, attached graphics depict the latest forecast maximum heat index for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. *Confidence: *Overall*, *moderate to high. It will be a very warm and muggy workweek, though there still is uncertainty on exact heat index values. It is possible elevated heat indices may continue into Thursday, but more clouds and rain cast greater uncertainty. Thank You!
