Dear Emergency Managers and other partners,

We continue to monitor a system that will bring widespread precipitation to
eastern NY and western New England starting late this afternoon through
tonight. Temperatures at the onset look cold enough for precipitation to
begin as snow, sleet and freezing rain in the southern Adirondacks, Upper
Hudson Valley, western Mohawk Valley, southern VT and the Berkshires. This
may lead to hazardous travel conditions this evening into tonight and we
have issued a Winter Weather Advisory for these areas. Before daybreak
Tuesday, we expect temperatures to gradually warm allowing any wintry mix
to transition back to plain rain.

Winds behind the storm on Tuesday will shift to the west and northwest and
become gusty.  Winds could gust up to 50 mph in the Mohawk Valley, Capital
District, Schoharie Valley, Helderbergs, eastern Catskills, Mid-Hudson
Valley, Taconics, southern Green Mountains, Berkshires and Litchfield
Hills.  Wind Advisories have been issued.  See the attached briefing for
