Dear Emergency Managers and other partners,
There is a slight risk for severe thunderstorms on Wednesday for all of
eastern New York and most of adjacent western New England. The best chance
for severe thunderstorms will be Wednesday afternoon and evening. The
greatest threat from these thunderstorms will be damaging wind gusts.
However, large hail will also be possible. In addition, an isolated tornado
will be possible.
Locally heavy rain may also produce ponding of water in poor drainage,
urban and low lying areas. Isolated flash flooding is possible, especially
in areas where multiple thunderstorms occur.
There may also be some showers and storms around early Wednesday morning,
but these are not expected to be severe.
Please see the attached briefing for more details.
