Dear Emergency Managers and other partners,
*Light Icing early this morning across the southern Adirondacks*
- Slippery conditions on untreated surfaces
- Temperatures rise above freezing early this morning ending the threat
*Rain and Snow melt Today through Tuesday with flooding possible*
- Mild temperatures and rainfall will cause the existing snow pack to
partially melt resulting in significant rises on area rivers and creeks
- A few river points may approach or possibly exceed flood stage. This
is most likely on the Hoosic River at Eagle Bridge NY and Williamstown MA
and on the Walloomsac at Bennington VT
- Flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas is likely especially
where drains are blocked by snow
*Light to moderate snowfall south & east Capital District Tuesday night
into Wednesday morning*
- A period of snow is expected Tuesday night into Wednesday
- If confidence increases then a Winter Weather Advisory will need to be
issued for hazardous conditions: snow covered roads and poor visibilities
