Dear Emergency Managers and other partners,

A winter weather advisory remains in effect through Wednesday evening for
the western Adirondacks. See the attached briefing for details.

In addition, snow showers and isolated squalls are possible through Tuesday
evening for the rest of the NWS Albany forecast area with the exception of
the mid-Hudson Valley:
As of 4:15 pm, a line of snow squalls is moving across western and central
New York. Although this line is expected to weaken as it moves into eastern
New York and western New England, some areas could experience brief heavy
snow, strong winds, and reduced visibility. These conditions could lead to
locally hazardous traveling conditions on untreated roads this evening. The
most favorable time frame for locally hazardous travel conditions is 6-9 pm
for the Mohawk and Schoharie Valleys, southern Adirondacks, and eastern
Catskills, and 8-11 pm for the Capital District, Lake George Saratoga
Region, Taconics, and western New England. Motorists should be prepared for
the possibility of rapidly changing conditions.
