Dear Emergency Managers and other partners,
A low pressure system will approach the area late Saturday into Sunday.
This system will bring a wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain
Saturday night into early Sunday morning before changing over to all rain.
If confidence in ice accretion increases, a Winter Weather Advisory would
be issued.
Additionally, strong to damaging winds are expected Sunday evening into
Monday evening across much of the region. At this time, a *High Wind Watch *has
been issued for the western Adirondacks, western & central Mohawk Valley,
Schoharie Valley, Helderbergs & eastern Catskills. Additional wind
headlines will likely be needed.
Also, Lake Effect snow may produce light to moderate accumulations to
portions of northern Herkimer and northwest Hamilton counties late Sunday
night into Monday night.
Please refer to attached briefing for more details.
