Dear Emergency Managers and other partners,

A *Winter Weather Advisory* has been issued through 1 PM today for some
light ice accumulations across the western/southern Adirondacks and
western/central Mohawk Valley.

A *Flood Watch* has been issued from tonight through Sunday for the same
areas. Heavy rainfall combined with some snow melt may lead to minor
flooding.

A strong storm system is expected to produce widespread moderate to locally
heavy rainfall across portions of the region late Saturday into Sunday.
Anomalously high moisture content and periods of heavy rain may lead to
flooding including those within urban and poor drainage areas.
Additionally, there is a small potential for minor river flooding in the
Upper Hudson Valley and southern Vermont due to the combination of snowmelt
and heavy rainfall. If confidence increases for potential widespread
flooding, a Flood Watch may be needed in those areas. Some gusty winds to
40 to 45 mph are also possible Saturday night into Sunday morning,
especially over the higher terrain.
