[Weather] [2018.12.14 PM NWS Briefing] Wintry Mix Across The Interior This Weekend

Good afternoon everyone,

This is just a general heads-up email regarding a potential wintry mix of
freezing rain, sleet and even some light snow mainly across western
Massachusetts and Connecticut beginning late Saturday night and continuing
into Sunday night.  As there often is in mixed-precipitation events, there
remains some uncertainty on how widespread the impacts will be, but these
can be refined in future emails.

*What:*

   - A mix of freezing rain and sleet, changing to snow before ending.
   - Light ice accumulations possible, with slippery conditions on area
   roadways.

*Where:*

   - Especially the higher terrain of western Massachusetts and Connecticut
   although some of central Massachusetts and Connecticut.
   - Even areas where all rain is experienced, a brief period of
   accumulating snow is possible late Sunday night into early Monday.
   - Risk for some impact to Monday morning commute.

*When:*

   - Precipitation begins late Saturday night, spreading north into the
   morning Sunday.
   - Gradual change to rain outside of the high terrain during the day
   Sunday.
   - Gradual change to snow possible late Sunday night into Monday morning
   everywhere before ending.

*When We Will Know More:*

We will continue to resolve the precipitation type issues over the next 24
hours.  Some Winter Weather Advisories are possible, especially where ice
is expected.
